There is no backend of ours. The app starts a local server on your computer and talks only to it.

What usually raises an eyebrow
Is it really free? Is there a paid plan later?
It is free and it stays free. There is no plan, no expiring trial, no cap on pieces and no charge for using the software. You download the installer and use it. The only possible costs come from third parties you choose to connect — for example, an AI provider's API that charges per token. Running with local AI (Ollama, Claude Code, opencode), not even that.
What's the catch? How do you make money from this?
We don't, and we don't need to. Studio Quadd grew out of the internal tool Soft Quadd uses for its own marketing. Because it runs on your machine, we have no per-user server cost — giving it away costs us nothing. Soft Quadd makes its living building custom software; the app is our calling card.
What does self-hosted mean here?
That the whole program runs on your computer. There is no server of ours in between, no account to create and nothing is sent to Soft Quadd. The artwork, the library, the schedule and the integration keys are written to your machine, in the app's data folder.
Does my data go anywhere?
Only where you send it. The app talks to the AI provider you configure and to the social networks you connect — and nothing beyond that. If you use a local AI provider, the text never even leaves your computer.
Can I use it commercially, for clients?
You can, and without paying anything for it. Use it for your own brand or for client brands, charging whatever you think is fair. There is no royalty, no commission and no cap on commercial use. The only thing we ask is that you don't resell Studio Quadd itself as if it were yours.
Do I need anything installed?
Google Chrome. It is what renders the artwork at high resolution, in an invisible window in the background. Node ships inside the app: no terminal, no npm install, no server to start.
Which networks does it publish to?
Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. The connection is made inside the app, using each network's official API, and the tokens stay only on your machine.
How do I know the file I downloaded is the right one?
We publish the SHA-256 of every installer on the download page. Hash the file you downloaded and compare: if it is identical, the file is exactly what we published.
Where do the images in the artwork come from?
From a folder of yours, which the app watches in real time — and from image providers you connect. The app ships with no built-in stock: it ships the software, you bring the material.
Does it run on my Intel Mac? On Linux?
Today there is an installer for macOS Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) and Windows 64-bit. Intel Mac and Linux have no ready build at the moment.
macOS says it can't verify the app. What now?
The build is not notarised by Apple yet. On first launch, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click “Open Anyway”. After that it opens normally.
